Quality Kiko Goat Breeding
Located in Perry County, PA

We are a CL, CAE, and Johnes clean tested herd with all up-to-date vaccinations. We take biosecurity seriously and all animals that come to the farm are kept in quarantine until they are proven to be clean of all diseases and infections. We pride ourselves in taking the upmost care of our animals and producing the highest quality representation of the Kiko breed. All purebred stock is registered with the National Kiko Registry. Kids will be registered with NKR upon sale.

As Purebred breeders, we hold our livestock to a high standard in order to register them through the National Kiko Registry. All kikos must be free of defects such as kicker teats, split teats, etc. Additionally, all kikos must meet the 90-day weigh in minimum. By 90-days, does must weigh at least 40lbs and bucks must weigh at a minimum of 50lbs. If a purebred kid does not meet these specifications, they will not be registered with papers and will be treated as commercial.

At Mahanoy Ridge Farm, we believe that every goat's place should be earned, thus we choose to cull aggressively to ensure that our production standards are met. For example, goats with issues related to conformation, aggressiveness, maternal instincts, hardiness, escaping, or reproduction are culled. We believe that not every goat that can be registered should be registered.

Here at Mahanoy Ridge Farm, we take our herd's health very seriously. We do everything we can to minimize the disease in our herd, taking regular persuasions such as maintaining a closed herd, pasture rotation, and checking our goats regularly to ensure they are all in good health.
